Langen had its first documentary mention in 834 in a donation document from King Ludwig II to the Lorsch Abbey under the name Langungon. Since the Lorsch Abbey hardly worried very much about their landholdings, the Lords of Hagen-Münzenberg came over the course of time to be the land's effective owners. Linden and Oberlinden in the west came into being as pure residential neighbourhoods and at the time they raised Langen's population considerably.

This place is close to the Zeil shopping district, walking distance, a bit long walk. Metro station is within 200m from this hotel. Breakfast was nice, few Indian dishes! Overall it was great value for money. Friendly staff, especially the gentleman at the reception who did both my check-in and check-out was so helpful in explaining to me about the area around. There’s not a lot of off site activities at the moment and not much going on on the weekend!

Recently they lost their chef, and the new chef's food is not to my loved one's liking, although other people do like it. Merrill Gardens a lovely atmosphere and I really like the location, it is in a nice neighborhood. I checked into a lot of others facilities and this one was the best value for the money by far. We have been very pleased with our experience.
